Education and Professional Experience
When it comes to something as important as your smile, training, education, experience, and passion matter. Fortunately, we have two truly exceptional orthodontists here at our Allen office, Dr. Jones and Dr. Hanson!
Dr. Jones’ journey to becoming an orthodontist began at Southern Methodist University. After graduation, she took the dental admission test, got the highest score in the country that year, and attended Baylor College of Dentistry-Texas A&M Health Science Center. Shortly after earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), she pursued her training in orthodontics at one of the top programs in the country. After 2+ years at The University of Texas at Houston, she earned her master’s and Certificate in Orthodontics. Her accomplishments don’t stop there either. In addition to being a certified Invisalign provider and a recipient of the Dr. Kramer Award of Excellence, she was voted “Best of Big D” five years in a row by D Magazine.
As for Dr. Hanson, she didn’t realize she wanted to be an orthodontist until after she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering! She ultimately chose to attend the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, which is where she earned her DDS. Then, she completed a two-year orthodontic residency, which culminated in her earning her Master of Science in Dentistry as well as her Certificate in Orthodontics. Today, she is an active member of the American Academy of Orthodontists, a Diamond+ Status Certified Invisalign Provider, and a recipient of the American Association of Orthodontists Senior Award.
